Navuoo

I had mention that we went to Navuoo in March. Here are some pictures from there. We had a wonderful experience. You could feel the spirit of the pioneers so strong. We loved it. Here is a little about our trip. We had to leave earlier then we were planning because a storm was coming in and the road would be closed. So we left Tuesday after Lys got out of school and we drove all the way to Cheyenne Wy. Then the next day we stopped at Cabela's and let the kids walk around and look at everything. Got some lunch and headed towards Omaha. I personally have never been out of Wyoming so I can now add more states to my list of where I have been. We stayed with friends in Omaha that night and we were ahead of the storm. We woke up Wednesday morning to tons of snow outside. The kids were asking us if they could make a snowman, the answer was no we needed to get on the road. We ended up getting to Nauvoo Thursday dinner time. The kids were so excited to see Grandma and Grandpa plus they were in a car for a long time. Needless to say they were running around like crazy Indians. On Friday we went and explored Old town Navuoo, went on a wagon ride, saw some of the houses and mainly just relaxed. This was a vacation that was well needed. Saturday was Mom and Dad's p-day so we got to see the sites with them. It was really fun and it is an experience that we will never forget. Sunday we went to Carthidge Jail, another awesome experience and the spirit was so strong. Thanks to my Mother-in-law for watching the little ones so that we could tour it together. I think the thing that made it special is our tour guide was legally blind, and he did the complete tour. It was awesome. We also got to see Andy's parents perform in a play. It was cool to see them sing and dance. I think the highlight for the kids was when their Grandpa got to do the kick in the program. We left Monday for home, we took the trip easy and got home on Wednesday. We even got to go to an indoor water park for the kids on the way home. It was a wonderful time to spend together as a family. It made life not seem so hard, compared to what the pioneers had to go through. I couldn't even imagine what it would be like. I have come to understand why everyone has trials in life to make us stronger. Things have defiantly been rough the past couple of months, but we are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel and appreciate what we have, and all of our family members, the support we have had, and know that we are not alone. Which makes things better. I am grateful for my children and my husband and know that he is doing the best he can. I also realized that I wouldn't have had any of the kids if I would have had them in pioneer times, especially Maddi. Five months of bed rest and excellent Dr and nurses and modern medicine keep her in and alive and I am grateful for that. She is such a blessing in our lives. I promise I will get better about keeping our blog up to date. I hope everyone enjoys the pictures.

Way behind

I thought that I would take a quick min and send a little update, it has been a long time since I have updated our blog. Life has been kindof crazy. We had a wonderful Christmas, I will get pictures up as soon as I can. We moved the end of February into Andy's parents house. His parents are on a mission in Navuoo and we will be taking care of things while they are gone. The begining of the week that we moved Andy was laid off from his job, they were doing cut backs, he was one of 14 people to go. It was really hard, but has time as gone by I have realized that is actually has been a blessing in disguse. We were able to go to Navuoo the first part of March and visit Andy's mom and dad. We had a great time, even though it was 1300 miles one way. The kids did great both on the way and back. We stopped at many different places to let the kids play. I had never been past Wyoming. I also have pictures of that, I will post those too. Thanks for everyones support through this hard time, but we are finding that we are closer together then we have been before and that many blessing have come from our trials. I will try and get better about updating our blog and I will get the pictures loaded as soon as we can.
